BIOGRAPHY
Barry Tuchfeld, Ph.D. holds the rank of Sandan (3rd
degree Black Belt) in Aikido and conducts leadership seminars
using principles from Aikido. He has trained for over 17 years
in Aikido, including direct training with Saito Sensei in Iwama
Japan. He is a member of Takemusu Aikido Association and has trains
regularly with Goto Sensei and Tatoian Sensei in the San Francisco
Bay Area.
His doctorate is in sociololgy, with an emphasis
on social psychology and organizational dynamics. Barry's work
includes business and personal development. He has consulted for
over 30 years with multinational corporations, small businesses,
government, and nonprofit groups. He has also directed local,
regional, and national applied research projects. Recent clients
include Levi Straus & Co., the Institute for the Study of
Distributed Work, Agilent Corporation, Herman-Miller Corporation,
and the Life Learning Center.
In addition to his consulting practice, he is an
adjunct professor with the University of San Francisco. Barry
was also an Associate Professor and Founding Director of the Center
for Organizational Research at Texas Christian University (Ft.
Worth, TX).
